This was my first player character in a TRPG. She wasn't a hero by any means.
She is a very fragile shadowy witch that packs an arcane punch — so that nobody can come close enough to cause harm. She has a very special card deck, a gift from her father. Each card holds one of her spells, so this is a reminder of her family and also a focus for her powers. Her other weapon is guile. She made her living as a fake medium and diviner before adventuring, and lies helped her out of some very difficult situations as well. Sometimes this became a force for good — even if she saw that as a source of her own entertainment.
Her outfit incorporates a lot of alchemical symbols to nod to her actual skill as well as to draw a connection to her interest in other planes of existence and design of the deck itself.
